2011 NZ Mountain Film Festival Art/Photography Display Guidelines

The NZMFF provides a platform to Photographers and Artists to display and sell their work during the 5 day event 7:00pm, July 1 to 11pm, July 5 at the Lake Wanaka Centre, Ardmore St, Wanaka.

The NZMFF does not take any commission for works sold. The NZMFF gets its value from its visitors enjoyment of viewing your work.

  • The festival theme is “Adventurous Sports and Lifestyles” so your work should reflect this in some way. This means something to do with the world’s outdoor spaces, mountains, lakes, sea and rivers. Sport or scenic. It is a pretty broad theme so if you are not sure please send us a sample.
  • The NZMFF will provide one or two art display walls/panels which will be set up before 5pm on Friday, July 1. They will also prove hooks to insert into the screens to hang your work from.
  • The Artist/Photographer needs to be there (or an appointed friend/employee) between 5pm and 6pm on Friday July 1 to hang their work. They also need to arrange for the removal of the work after the last break on the closing night, Tuesday July 5 (about 9:30-10pm) or the next morning before noon.
  • The Artist/Photographer can attach price tags, phone numbers, web pages and a description on their work. Attach to the walls with blue-tack or double sided tape. The ticket office can accept payment of work on your behalf (cheques/cash).
  • The photos/art can be any size but should be mounted so that hanging the work is easy to hang and looks tidy. The screens are approximately 2.8m long and 1.2 m high, on legs so that the screens are at eye level. There is also some wall space available. There are some lights available, but the Photographer/Artist are welcome to provide their own.
  • Artists/Photographers are expected to pay for any shows they attend during the festival (most of our regular Artists/Photographers buy a festival pass and attend the whole festival, hanging out around their work during breaks and chatting to people).
  • Interested Photographers/Artists should send a brief Bio and a sample photo to the festival organisers.
  • The NZMFF takes no responsibility for lost, damaged or stolen work (even though we are sure it would never happen).

Thanks and we hope you can join us this year!!
